Surety bonds

Surety bonds in Orlando and across Florida

License and permit bonds, contractor bonds, notary bonds and more. Tell us what the state, county or project owner is asking for and we’ll get the right bond issued.

The short answer

A surety bond is a promise, backed by a surety company, that you’ll meet an obligation such as following licensing rules or finishing a contract. If you don’t, the surety pays the claim and you repay the surety. That’s the key difference from insurance: a bond protects the party requiring it, not you. Your price is a small percentage of the bond amount, based largely on credit and experience.

Common bonds we write

  • License and permit bonds required by Florida agencies, counties and cities
  • Contractor license bonds for local licensing
  • Bid, performance and payment bonds for construction projects
  • Notary bonds
  • Court and fiduciary bonds, such as probate bonds

What we need

The exact bond name and amount required, usually listed on the application or contract, plus the name of the agency or project owner requesting it. For contract bonds, financial information about your business helps us place the bond with the right surety.

Usually a small percentage of the bond amount each year, based on the type of bond, your credit and your experience. Many small license bonds have low, fixed premiums.

No. Insurance protects you. A bond protects the party that required it, and you agree to repay the surety for any claim it pays.

Many license and permit bonds can be issued quickly once we have the details. Contract bonds take longer because the surety reviews your business.
