Real estate E&O
Realtors are the heart of our business, so we know how a missed disclosure or a contract dispute can turn into a claim. Errors and omissions coverage pays for your defense and settlements.
The short answer
Real estate E&O insurance covers claims that an agent or brokerage made a professional mistake, such as failing to disclose a known defect, misstating property details or mishandling a contract. Florida doesn’t require real estate licensees to carry E&O, but many brokerages require their agents to have it. Policies are usually claims-made, so continuous coverage matters.
Individual agents, teams, brokerages and property managers. If your brokerage carries a group policy, we can review whether it covers you personally and fill any gaps. Brokerages should also consider cyber coverage for wire fraud and client data, and general liability for open houses and the office.
Many of the realtors who send us buyers also insure their own business with us. See how our closing referral process works.
The state doesn’t require it, but many brokerages do. Even when it isn’t required, defending a single claim can cost far more than the premium.
Sometimes. It depends on how the policy is written and who’s named on it. Send us the details and we’ll tell you whether you need your own.
Usually not. Funds lost to wire fraud or email scams are typically covered by cyber or crime insurance, not E&O.
