Life insurance

Life insurance for Central Florida families

If someone depends on your income, life insurance makes sure they’re looked after. Our team will help you choose between term and whole life and figure out a coverage amount that makes sense, in English or Spanish.

The short answer

Term life covers you for a set number of years, such as 10, 20 or 30, and is the most affordable way to protect a family while children are young or a mortgage is being paid. Whole life lasts your entire life, builds cash value and costs more. Most families start with term. The right amount depends on your income, debts and the people who depend on you.

How much life insurance do you need?

A simple starting point: add up what your family would need to replace your income for a number of years, pay off the mortgage and other debts, and cover future costs like college. Subtract savings and any coverage you already have through work. Coverage through an employer usually ends when the job does, so many people carry a personal policy too.

Who should think about it

  • Parents with children at home
  • Homeowners with a mortgage
  • Couples who rely on two incomes
  • Business owners with partners or loans
  • Anyone who wants to cover final expenses so family isn’t left with the bill

Life insurance questions

Neither is better for everyone. Term gives the most coverage for the money during the years your family depends on your income. Whole life lasts for life and builds cash value, at a higher cost. Many families use term, and some add a smaller whole life policy for final expenses.

Often it isn’t. Workplace coverage is commonly one or two times your salary and usually ends if you leave the job. A personal policy stays with you.

It depends on your age, health and the amount of coverage. Some policies require a short exam and others use health questions only. We’ll tell you what to expect.
